Giving expert tuition on
Bass & Tenor The
idea of the one day clinic is to help drummers to understand their instruments
and to assist and enhance their individual playing techniques. Music
reading and writing will be covered and students will have the opportunity
to construct a basic beating... Instructors
for the day will come from within the branch and will be there to offer
up as much help and assistance as possible. There
will be a small fee for the hire of the facility and supply of tea and
coffee throughout the day. Fees:
£18 Inclusive 2 course lunch. Tea/coffee available
all day
plus 6 hours expert tuition
£12 Tea/coffee available all day plus 6 hours
expert tuition Students
must be enrolled 2 weeks prior to the course day
A deposit of £6 must be paid 2 weeks
prior to confirm your place The
day will start at 10am and end at 4.30pm
Students will need to bring their sticks and practice pads and drum. If
you want to take part in the basic theory lessons and basic drum beating
construction, you will need to bring writing material. Manuscript
paper will be provided. There
is ample free parking for cars. For

Guest instructors from the Northern Ireland Piping
and Drumming School will be attending, namely Trevor Buckley and John
McFetridge of Field Marshal Montgomery Pipe Band. I hope to secure the
attendance of Mark Wilson also from Field Marshal Montgomery accompanied
by local instructor Robert Haynes, to look after the needs of the snare
drummers.
The next course is planned for planned for
February 2005, If the last course was anything to go by we may have to put a cap on the
numbers able to attend. So get your place booked as soon as the date is
confirmed to avoid disappointment.
